Newly renovated in 2013, our nursery is a wonderful place for parents to drop off their little ones, so they can restfully and attentively enjoy Bible classes and services. Each of our nursery workers are trained and prepared to give the loving care and attention that your child needs at a time when he needs it most. We provide nursery for children ages 0-2 years old for every service, which includes Sunday services, Wednesday evening services, and special events and conferences. Though our workers are experienced in child-care, there are times when a baby just needs “Mama,” in which case, one of the nursery staff will come and notify you. We understand that your baby is the most precious gift you have, and we want you to rest assured that your child will be supervised, loved, and safe while in our care.
Jesus said to “suffer the little children to come unto Me.” If there’s one thing that stands out about our church, it’s that we love children!
Our dedicated staff of teachers prayerfully and diligently prepare for their classes each week, with a heartfelt desire to impart both spiritual and practical truths that will help the children have a bright and prosperous future.
The children’s ministries include Sunday school and Children’s church on Sunday mornings, Patch the Pirate Club on Sunday evenings, and Master Club on Wednesday evenings. We have an annual Vacation Bible Time every summer, and we have special children’s events throughout the year.
Each class is structured with a lead teacher and several assistants. Classes typically include fun activities, songs, and a Bible lesson. Sometimes, teachers even offer HOMEWORK—yuck! The purpose of these classes are to teach students about God, His plan of salvation, and how to live a Christian life.
The teen department of GRIBT is very active. They meet on Sunday mornings at 10:00am and Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm. Besides these regularly scheduled classes, the teens enjoy various events and activities throughout each month.
Teen activities include: summer camp, spring basketball tournament, winter retreats, youth rallies, purity conference, cookouts and picnics, laser tag, miniature golf, Six Flags, and many other things!
Bible lessons each Sunday and Wednesday discuss topics that are relevant to teen life. Such topics include: relationships, morality, choices, peer pressure, and who God is. Of course, the gospel message of salvation is included in just about every lesson, as this is the foundation of a new life!
The young adults group meets every Sunday morning at 10:00am. The lessons taught in this class are intended to be immediately applicable for those in their early to mid 20s. Besides weekly classes, the young adults get together for various events throughout the year for a time of enjoying fun times and making new friends.
Communication. Finances. Children. Schedules. Arguments…whoops, I mean, disagreements. Sound familiar?
The young couples meet throughout the year for Bible-based marriage enrichment classes, informal get-togethers, and family outings. Counseling is also available for couples who are looking for guidance in these crucial years of building a family.
Sometimes it's just a matter of digging in and breaking apart a specific passage piece by piece, or studying a particular topic in a less formal group setting - that's what the Ladies' Bible Study is all about. Provided on a weekly basis, this is offered to ladies of all stages of life. Based on biblical principles, the Ladies' Bible Study is a special time devoted to help you grow as a wife, mother, friend, and woman from the inside out.
Periodically throughout the year, the Young at Hearts (55 years and older) meet for fellowships. These activities range from chili cook-offs, to Christmas caroling, to Christian movie night, and so on.
In a culture where seniors are being forgotten, ignored, and despised, we understand that our Young at Hearts are rich in wisdom, experience, and spiritual maturity; consequently, we seek to learn from them, respect them, and honor them for their “crown of glory” (Proverbs 16:31).
Can deaf people hear? At Greater RI Baptist Temple they can!
Every service, function, event, and activity hosted by our church is interpreted for the deaf. We have a team of interpreters who devote literally several hours each week in preparing for the next service. The interpreted music is picturesque; the sermons are accurate and understandable; and our deaf people are treated with special attention and love.
If you or someone you know is deaf, we extend our invitation to come and “listen” to one of our services! You’ll meet our interpreters, you’ll get to know our deaf group, and you’ll feel like you’re among friends! We are so glad our deaf families have a found a “home” at Greater RI Baptist Temple.
For over 35 years, our church has understood the urgent need for reaching the next generation with the gospel. Without Christ and the Bible, there is no hope for the children of our community.
Each week, aboard our buses and vans, hundreds of kids from the Greater Providence area come to church to learn about God and His salvation. Ranging from 5 years old through college-age, these young people are learning that Biblical Christianity is about love, sacrifice, and reaching out to others.
The song says, “Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world,” and so do we!
But children are not the only ones who ride our buses. Adults can come, too! We are so pleased to have such dedicated riders who choose each Sunday to come and worship God with us.
You see, our bus riders are not merely guests of Greater RI Baptist Temple….they are members, and they are part of our family!
If you live in the Greater Providence area, and if you need transportation to church, please call us at 401.231.4796. We know you’ll enjoy the experience and we want to help!
